Current Students

For current students who would like to join the team, there are a few Lawrence University requirements that need to be fulfilled before attending practice on the water.

    1. All students will need to take Lawrence University Aquatic Skills Test
administered by a certified lifeguard or swim instructor. The test includes swimming from one end of the pool and back and then treading water for 5 minutes in a tee shirt and shorts. Any student participating in a water activity at Lawrence must take this test. This is the same swim test that is required for students attending a water trip through ORC. Students will only need to take this test once during their time at Lawrence. The form can be downloaded here.
    2. Students need to complete a practice waiver and return it to either Regatta Chair: Maxine Voss (maxine.j.voss@lawrence.edu). Students under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the form. The form can be downloaded here.
    3. Register as a member of the LURC team through U.S. Rowing. Click here to register.

For older members:

In addition to completing these requirements, team members must also pay annual dues to the club which covers food for regattas, travel costs, equipment maintenance, and extra club expenses. Although dues may change from year to year, these numbers give you an estimate of what they will be in the coming seasons.

Dues, 2021-2022 year:
Rowers:                                        $50
Coxswains:                                  $25
Executive Board Members:  $25
